NEW ORLEANS – Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was named to the Manning Award Stars of the Week list, the Allstate Sugar Bowl announced Tuesday.Â

Reed threw for a career-best four touchdowns completing 22-of-34 passes for 289 yards, while adding 39 yards on eight carries in Texas A&M's season opener. The redshirt sophomore delivered back-to-back third-quarter scoring strikes after UTSA cut the Aggies advantage to 21-17 to lead Texas A&M to a 42-24 victory over the Roadrunners. Reed earned an 82.6 QBR, marking the fourth time in his career in which he recorded an 80-plus rating.Â

The Nashville, Tennessee, native was one of eight quarterbacks named to the "Stars of the Week" list.
