WACO – The Texas A&M men's tennis team opened the season strong in singles action at the opening day of the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic at the Hurd Tennis Center.

Junior Lathan Skrobarcek and redshirt sophomore Ritesh Patil picked up the first win for the Aggies in doubles against Ludovico Vaccari and Felipe Pagnacco of Texas Tech, 8-6, in the blue bracket to advance to the semifinals.

The Maroon & Whites momentum carried over into singles with all four Aggies picking up singles wins. Patil struck first defeating Louis Bowden of host Baylor, 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. Skrobarcek advanced to the semifinals of the green draw after winning against Alexander Stafford of SMU 6-2, 6-4. Senior Ethan Silva heads to the semifinals in the red draw after Dennis Dutine, ACU, retired after splitting sets. In his debut action for the Maroon & White, freshman Egor Gorin completed the perfect day of singles in a three-set battle against Jesse Gothelf of UT Arlington in the purple bracket, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
