Get to Know: Sydney Lessentine

Sophomore Pitcher Sydney Lessentine joined the Aggies last season. The Alamogordo, New Mexico, native, led the Aggies in ERA with a 2.85, set a school record with 19 strikeouts in a seven-inning game and became the first freshman Aggie to record a no-hitter since 2008.

How would you like to see yourself grow from year one to year two as an Aggie pitcher?
"Having the confidence to go out there and not being a scared freshman. I want to go out there and own the field."
 
What are your individual and team goals for the 2026 season?
"I want to be more of a leader and show up more. As a team I want to make it further than we did last year."


 
How would you describe what it is like playing in front of the 12th Man?
"It's incredible having such a huge fan base and it's an honor to have everyone supporting us. It feels like the 12th Man is out there with us."
 
What is your pregame hype song or a pregame meal?
" 'I'm Gonna Have a Little Talk' by Randy Travis is something I listen to. Most of the time I stick with country."
 
What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of softball?
"I like to hunt, go to the lake and hangout with my friends."
 
Where in College Station is your favorite place to eat?
"Torchy's Tacos. I like the Chicken Fajita taco."
 
What is your major and what do you plan on doing with it?
"I'm majoring in communications with plans to be a Speech Pathologist."
 
If you could design an Aggie uniform, what would it look like and what details would you include?
"It would be all black, charcoal grey accents and Reveille on the sleeves."
