Jan 13, 2025 | Track and Field
NEW ORLEANS – Texas A&M track & field's Auhmad Robinson was named USTFCCCA Men's National Athlete of the Week for his school-record performance at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational, the organization announced Monday.
Robinson put the nation on notice in his first action of the 2025 season, as he dominated the men's 300m at the second annual McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational. The junior ran in the final heat of the event, pulling away from the competition with a time of 32.34 which broke the A&M school record.
The Spring, Texas, native also wrote his name in the 300m collegiate history books, as his time ranks him as the No. 3 all-time collegiate performer in the event and is the fourth-fastest time run by a collegiate athlete.
Doubling down on his weekend's success, he helped the Maroon & White close the meet on top, as he and the 4x400m relay quartet also including DeMarco Escobar, Cutler Zamzow and Kimar Farquharson brought home A&M's 12th win of the meet. The group crossed the line in 3:05.80 which leads the nation after the opening weeks action.
Robinson and the Aggies return to action this weekend, as they head to the Corky Classic in Lubbock, Texas, which runs from Jan. 17-18.
