BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball's Emiley Kennedy has been named a D1 Softball Preseason First Team All-American, the organization announced Wednesday.
Kennedy enters the 2025 season as one of the top pitchers in the nation. Along with being named a preseason All-American, Kennedy ranked No. 6 in D1 Softball Preseason Top 100 Player Rankings and the fourth-best pitcher. The left-handed ace finished her junior year with a 24-11 record, 1.93 ERA and 1.123 WHIP in 202.2 innings pitched. In 2024, she registered the third-most shutouts (10) and complete games (24) in the nation, while ranking top 20 in the country with 200 strikeouts. Kennedy became the first Aggie pitcher in 13 seasons to record double-digit shutouts and the first in 11 years to register at least 200 strikeouts in a campaign.
Kennedy asserted herself as one of the top pitchers in the nation's toughest conference earning All-SEC First Team honors a season ago. She led the SEC in league play with 100.1 innings pitched and ranked second with nine wins, while her 86 strikeouts set a program record.
Texas A&M hosts the Aggie Classic to open the 2025 campaign on Feb. 6 against Utah State at 4:30 p.m. and Purdue at 7 p.m. at Davis Diamond.
