Rodrigues Claims First Career Professional Victory

PORTIMÃO, Portugal – Recent Texas A&M graduate Daniel Rodrigues earned his first professional victory winning the NAU Morgado Open on the Portugal Tour.
Rodrigues triumphed with an 11-under 208, firing rounds of 68 and 67 to start the tournament. He erased a three-shot deficit in the final round with a closing 73 on the links of the par-73 Morgado Golf Course.
The Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, native was knocking on victory's door all of January. He started the tour season with a runner-up showing at the Palmares Open I, firing a 7-under 209. He followed it up with a third-place effort the following week, posting a 15-under 202 with rounds of 67, 68 and 66.
Rodrigues wrapped up a stellar career at Texas A&M, earning PING All-America Honorable Mention in 2023 and '24.
Last season, Rodrigues ranked second on Texas A&M in tournaments (14), rounds (39), stroke average (70.86) and versus par (-0.47). He closed out at No. 65 on the Clippd National Player Ranking and boasted a 901-225-50 W-L-T on the season. Rodrigues posted top-10 finishes in seven of the 11 tournaments, including four top-five outings. His most notable performances were a runner-up finish at the SEC Championship and fourth-place efforts at the Furman Intercollegiate and Louisiana Classics.
During his career, Rodrigues earned one tournament victory at the 2022 Blessings Intercollegiate and was named to the 2020-21 SEC All-Freshman Team as well as earning two SEC Golfer of the Week awards.
