NEED-TO-KNOWS
ON THE ROAD AGAIN: After a three-game home stand to start SEC play, the Aggies are now in the middle of a three-game road stretch.
The middle contest of the road swing takes Texas A&M to Baton Rouge to face the LSU Tigers, where the Aggies haven't won since 1994. The teams didn't meet in Baton Rouge after the 1994 game until 2013.
AGGIES & TIGERS: LSU ranks as Texas A&M's third-most played rival among SEC schools with 63 previous engagements, dating back to the first meeting in 1899. The Tigers hold a 36-24-3 lead in the series, including a 9-4 edge as SEC foes. The programs have split the last eight clashes, with the home team emerging victorious since 2017.
ABOUT THE START: The 45-42 road win over Arkansas improved the Aggies to 7-0 for the first time this century as they matched R.C. Slocum's 1994 team that won its first seven games on the way to Texas A&M's ninth unbeaten campaign in program history (10-0-1).
The Maroon & White are 4-0 in conference play for the second consecutive year and third time since joining the SEC in 2012. Last season, the Aggies won their first five SEC contests.
WITH A WIN: Texas A&M seeks to improve to 8-0 for the first time since 1992 when Slocum's Aggies finished the regular season with a perfect 12-0 record.
moving on up: Texas A&M jumped to an Elko era-high No. 3 in this week's edition of the Associated Press Top 25 poll. It's the highest ranking for the Aggies since Slocum's 1995 squad spent the first five weeks of the season at No. 3.
COMPLEMENTARY FOOTBALL: Texas A&M has answered an opponent scoring drive with a scoring drive of its own on 13-of-19 occasions dating back to the Notre Dame game, including 5-of-6 times against Arkansas last week.
