Get to know one of the Aggies below…
What are your individual and team goals heading into this season?
"Individually, every year I try to do better than I did the year before. Whether it is growing mentally or showing a difference on the field. As a team, we want a national championship and with this team we can definitely do it if we keep working and having the same mindset."
What was the biggest challenge you faced last season and how did you overcome it this season?
"My biggest challenge was when I got in a slump mid-season last year. I have overcome it and I've grown from it, understanding it's just a game and you're going to go through a lot more failures than successes. I feel understanding that really helped and is helping me this year."
What do this year's infield transfers bring to the table?
"A lot of energy, experience and maturity. They have been in college softball for a minute, understanding what it takes to get to the College World Series and how to be a great team."
How was it playing in front of the 12th man?
"It is awesome. You hear everyone talk about it all year, getting to run out onto the field and see the stands packed and the stadium sold out is insane."
What has been your favorite memory with the Aggies?
"When we played Texas in the SEC tournament. It is a rivalry game, a game you want to win. The way we went out and played that game was great."
Which Aggie tradition is your favorite?
"The Yells. It makes us different compared to other schools, instead of having cheerleaders we have yell leaders which is so cool. My favorite yell is also "beat the hell", it's just a classic."
What is the best part about game days?
"The hype and anticipation leading up to the game and my routine before. On gamedays I usually start my day with a prayer, braid my hair or do whatever hair style I had before which worked, get Dutch Bros and sit for an hour clearing my head to get my mind right."
If you could design a uniform, what would it look like?
"It'd be another pink jersey. I love our pink jerseys and would like to see it go with the A&M logo on the front. Some football related uniforms, with the large numbers on the front would also be cool.
Do you have any softball pet peeves?
"When knees are showing and there is room between your socks and pants. Also, when someone's hair is under their visor."
Who on the team would you take with you to spend 100 days on a deserted island?
"Hailey Golden, she would somehow find a way for us to survive."
What is your major and what do you plan on doing with it?
"I'm a sports management major and want to stay in the sports field to become a coach. If that doesn't work out, I would like to get into sports recruiting or being a sports agent."
