BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team lost Sunday's regular-season finale to the Kentucky Wildcats, 3-0, at Ellis Field.

The Wildcats broke the scoring seal in the 40th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the intermission. The Maroon & White had a couple chances to strike in the first half, but Kentucky's goalkeeper Megan Holland made two saves.

Kentucky tacked on two more goals in the final 30 minutes counterattacking an Aggie squad throwing numbers up in the offensive buildup.

Bella Yakel ended the match playing all 1,530 of the season. Trinity Buchanan wrapped up the year as the team's leading scorer with 12 points on five goals and two assists.

The book closes on A&M's season with a 5-7-5 overall record and a 2-6-2 league ledger. The Aggies would have advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a victory Sunday.

TEXAS A&M QUOTES
Head Coach G Guerrieri
On the match...
"It is a tough way to finish. Our girl put everything into it. They played their hardest and I love them. Tough way for a season to end and for everything else to end."

On the biggest takeaway from this game heading into the off-season…
"We're very thankful for our seniors, we have 27 on the roster, three of them seniors, so it's just a deal of it being a tough way to go. This team never quit, last year's team maybe did, but I'm proud of what they accomplished. We can build on this having a top ten class singing here this month. It's going to be a situation where once we get that in, get extra players to come and use the experience these guys have with each other, then next year's team could be a good, solid step forward."

Senior defender Bella Yakel
On what was meaningful during her senior season…
"For me having to step up and having the girls behind my back, I think that really meant a lot to me, and it's definitely going to help me going into the future."
