Ware Named to Lisa Leslie Preseason Top 20 Watchlist

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Texas A&M's Lauren Ware was named to the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Preseason Top 20 Watchlist, the organization announced Friday.
The prestigious award is one of five that recognizes the top player at their respective positions at the end of the season by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
The 20-player list will narrow down to 10 in late January, with the final five being announced in March. The award winner and presentation details will be revealed at the Final Four in Indianapolis.
Ware, the graduate student, is making her appearance on the watchlist for the second consecutive season, having led the Aggies in blocks (49) and defensive rebounds (135) last season and recording double figures on eight occasions. Since transferring to A&M, she has averaged 7.4 rebounds and 1.8 Blocks per game, while obtaining 11 double doubles in two seasons and currently sits eighth in career blocks for the Maroon & White with 102.
Lauren and the Aggies begin the season Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. inside Reed Arena versus A&M-Corpus Christi. For ticket information, visit 12thmanfoundation.com.
