Swimming & Diving opens 2025-26 season at USC Invitational
Oct 09, 2025 | Swimming and Diving
LOS ANGELES – The Texas A&M swimming & diving program opens its 2025-2026 campaign at the USC Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Trojans' Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
In addition to the Aggies, the field in Los Angeles includes the USC and Indiana men's and women's teams, as well as the women's squad from UCLA. All seven squads in the USC Invitational are ranked in the first CSCAA top 25 poll of 2025-26. In the men's poll, Indiana leads the way at No. 2, followed by No. 15 USC and No. 23 Texas A&M. On the women's side, Indiana is ranked No. 9, followed by No. 12 USC, No. 23 UCLA and No. 25 Texas A&M.
"There's a fresh energy around this Aggie team — we've trained hard, we've grown together, and now we're ready to kick off our season at USC," second-year director of swimming & diving Blaire Anderson said. "This meet is a great chance to show how much progress we've made and allow us to race three strong programs that we normally wouldn't get the chance to until NCAAs.
"What I'm looking most for at our season opener is confidence, race execution and grit, as we have athletes racing in many events in a short period of time."
Both squads go into the new season with high expectations after strong efforts in the 2024-25 season. The men's squad finished 12th nationally and fifth
at the SEC Championships. The Aggie women placed 26th nationally and eighth at the SEC Championships.
The men's squad returns 13 letter winners from last year's squad, including nine swimmer that posted at least an NCAA "B" qualifying cut and two divers that advanced to the NCAA zone championships. Returnees with at least a "B" cut are Roberto Bonilla Flores, Logan Brown, Connor Foote, Munzy Kabbara, Seth Reno, Ben Scholl, Ben Sytsma, Maximiliano Vega Cuevas and Lane White. Returning zone divers are SEC platform champion Jaxon Bowshire and Matthew Aigner.
The women's squad returns 15 letter winners, including 10 swimmers with NCAA "B" qualifying cuts in 2024-25 and three divers that advanced to zones. Returnees with 2025 "B" cuts include Kaylee Coffey, Giulia Goerigk, Kailey Kennedy, Ella McQuinn, Hayden Miller, Hannah O'Leary, Kaitlyn Owens, Lydia Palmer, Ella Smoker and Katie Walker. Returning divers that qualified for zones are Bridget Foster, Chloe McKnight and Julie Moons.
