BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's golf team received appropriate paperwork for two of the most coveted high school players in the nation head coach Brian Kortan announced Wednesday.
Landon Ashcraft and Owen Bolles, both hailing from Arizona, provide the Aggies with a pair of elite newcomers for the 2026-27 campaign. The tandem is climbing the Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking with Ashcraft slotted No. 15 in the class and Bolles checking in at No. 41. Ashcraft recently became the first Arizona high school golfer to win three straight individual state titles as he led Notre Dame Prep to back-to-back D-II team titles. Bolles is coming off a busy summer which included three top 10 finishes.
"Coach (Matt) Fast and I are extremely excited about Landon and Owen," Kortan said. "They are talented young men with great attitudes and relentless work ethic. Both are extremely competitive and have a strong desire to be coached. Landon and Owen will be outstanding Aggies and help lead the program for years to come. From Arizona to Aggieland, we couldn't be happier to welcome them and their incredible families to Texas A&M!"
Landon Ashcraft | Scottsdale, Arizona
In October, Ashcraft became the first golfer to win three consecutive Arizona High School State Championships. His performance led Notre Dame Prep to its second straight Arizona D-II crown. In August, he claimed the 53rd Junior Americas Cup by a nine-stroke margin and led Team Arizona to the team title. Ashcraft won the PING JR Masters and Betsy King IMG Academy Jr World Qualifier in 2024. He was also victorious at the 2023 AJGA Salt Lake Junior. His junior rankings heading into the signing period are No. 1 in Arizona, No. 25 nationally and No. 15 in the Class of 2026.
Kortan on Ashcraft...
"Landon is a tremendous addition to the program. He brings a ton of success with wins on the AJGA Tour and the 2025 Jr Americas Cup. He has won three consecutive Arizona State High School championships. He's also the No. 1 player in his class from Arizona and No. 15 nationally. Landon uses his athleticism very well and he has a very high ceiling. He will be a great fit and contribute immediately."
Owen Bolles | Chandler, Arizona
Bolles recorded three top 10 finishes over the summer, including a fourth at the UnderArmour/Jordan Spieth Championship, fifth at the AJGA Northwest Arkansas Junior and eighth at the Western Junior Championship. He claimed the Desert Amateur in 2024 with a birdie on the second playoff hole. His 2024 campaign also included a win at the New Year Classic and runner-ups at the Thunderbird Invitational-Ping Jr Masters, finishing two strokes behind current Aggie Wheaton Ennis, and the Betsy King IMG Academy Jr World Qualifier. Bolles claimed 2023 Junior Golf Association of Arizona Player of the Year recognition, winning five JGAA events. He qualified for the 2025 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
Kortan on Bolles...
"We are thrilled Owen is part of our 2026 class. He's been very successful at the junior level, finishing top 5 in several national AJGA events and eighth in the 2025 Western Junior. He has Owen earned several wins in Arizona where he's ranked No. 2. Also ranked in the top 40 nationally, he is a mature young man who will benefit greatly from our competitive environment. He plays with a tone of natural speed has and has room to develop quickly in the scoring areas. We look for him to contribute and make an impact on day one.
