BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team thrilled an Elementary School Day crowd of 7,851 with a 79-64 victory over the Tarleton State Texans Thursday inside Reed Arena.

In front of the third-largest Elementary School Day turnout in program history, the Maroon & White (2-0) pulled away from the Texans (2-2) in the second half, never trailing after halftime.

Salese Blow paced the Aggies with 18 points, shooting 7-of-11 (63.6%) from the field. Lauren Ware added 15 points, hitting 5-of-5 from the field with 11 points coming in the first half. Janae Kent tallied 12 points and five rebounds while Fatmata Janneh added eight points and 11 rebounds for Texas A&M. Ny'Ceara Pryor stuffed the stat sheet for the Maroon & White with 10 points, eight assists and four steals.

Pien Steenbergen sparked the offense with five points in the last two minutes of the first quarter, cutting A&M's deficit to 20-13 at the end of the period. Tarleton opened a 20-9 advantage with 1:44 on the clock, shooting 5-of-9 (55.6%) from the 3-point line.

The Aggies came back strong in the second quarter, closing an 11-point gap with a 16-4 run in the last seven minutes, giving the Maroon & White a 34-33 lead. Blow scored 10 points in the period, making 4-of-7 (57.1%) from the floor.

Early in the third quarter, Kent added to the lead, shooting 3-of-3 from the floor with one 3-pointer. A&M never trailed in the period, logging 24 points. Kent and Pryor scored the last eight points of the frame giving the Aggies their first double-digit edge, 58-48.

Jordan Webster sank a 3-pointer with 7:13 left in the contest, providing Texas A&M its largest lead of the game, 69-50. The Texans never threatened the remainder of the game.

The Aggies return to the court Sunday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. at Kansas State for their first road test of the season.

The Aggies went on a 22-4 run over an 8:53 stretch from the second to third quarter to push the lead to 40-33 with 8:08 remaining in the third period.
Texas A&M overcame a double-digit deficit for the first time since coming back from down 10 against Kentucky (Jan. 23, 2025).
Shot 51.6% (16-of-31) from the field in the second half to balloon the Aggie lead from one to 15 by the end of the game.
After beginning the game 4-of-12 (33.3%) from the free throw line in the first quarter, Texas A&M went 14-of-17 (82.3) at the charity stripe for the remainder of the bout.

Salese Blow

Registered 12 first half points shooting 5-for-8 from the field for the Maroon & White

Finished with a team high 18 points, marking her first double-digit scoring output for the Aggies and the 42nd occurrence of her career.

Lauren Ware

Recorded 15 points, shooting 5-for-5 from the field, marking the 30th double-digit scoring game of her career

Finished perfect from the field for the sixth time in her career and second as an Aggie.

Pien Steenbergen

Recorded five points in the final two minutes of the first quarter for the Aggies.

Janae Kent

Poured in a season-high 12 points shooting 4-for-6 from the field

Ny'Ceara Pryor

Finished with 10 points to record her 97th career double-digit outing and second as an Aggie.
Her eight assists led the team for the second game in a row.
Recorded four steals, which was her average last season when she led the country. Pryor is averaging 6.0 steals per game this year.

Fatmata Janneh

Recorded a season and team high 11 rebounds, marking the 30th time she has recorded double-digit rebounds in her career and second as an Aggie.
