
Women’s Basketball Inks Two Four-Star Recruits

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M women's basketball inked a pair of four-star recruits in Rieyan DeSouze and Jayda Porter Wednesday from the 2026 signing class.
Rieyan DeSouze | Point Guard | 5-7 | DeSoto, Texas | Legion Prep Academy
The 5-7 point guard is a four-star prospect with 247sports, SportsCenter Next 100 and Rivals. Additionally, DeSouze is ranked within the top 50 players nationally in the 2026 class on all three recruit rankings and as high as No. 4 on Rivals among point guards in the class.
The DeSoto, Texas, native has played her high school career at Legion Prep Academy. With the Bulldogs, DeSouze helped lead the program to a 2025 Texas Christian Athletic League State Championship. DeSouze is the No. 1 point guard in the Lone Star State in the 2026 class.

"She's a poised floor general with elite court vision and an explosive first step. Her ability to control tempo, create for others and lead with confidence sets her apart. Jayda Porter | Power Forward | 6-3 | Columbia, Missouri | Rock Bridge High School
Porter is the No. 28 recruit in the country according to 247sports and the No. 9 power forward in the class. The Columbia, Missouri, native was a Class 6A MBCA All-State selection out of Rock Bridge High School after leading her team to a Class 6A District 7 Championship.
The 6-3 forward was also named a 2024-25 Honorable Mention MaxPreps Junior All-American after averaging 24.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 62.0% from the field. Porter was also named a 2023-24 Third Team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American when she led Rock Bridge to the Class 6A semifinals.

Jayda's proven ability to score, rebound and protect the rim will be a major factor for us going forward. We believe that in College Station she'll continue to grow, lead and help elevate our program to new heights."
Texas A&M returns to the court Sunday, Nov. 16 at Kansas State for its first road game of the season. The Aggies are 2-0 and have an average margin of victory of 26.5.
