Record Comeback Lifts No. 3 Football to 31-30 Win over South Carolina

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed passed for a career-high 439 yards on 22 completions with three touchdowns. Junior wide receiver KC Concepcion registered a career high with 158 receiving yards on eight catches. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman had a career day with four receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Izaiah Williams and graduate tight end Nate Boerkircher also posted receiving scores on the afternoon.
The Aggie defense prevented the Gamecocks from scoring on each of their five drives in the second half to secure the victory. Junior linebacker Taurean York was the Maroon & White's leading tackler with eight, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Senior cornerback Will Lee III added five tackles with a pass breakup and his first career sack, and junior safety Dalton Brooks notched his first interception on the year. Redshirt senior defensive end Cashius Howell recorded a sack on the final drive of the contest to help seal the win and matched a career high with three pass breakups.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- South Carolina charted the first points of the game after converting a 36-yard field goal on its opening drive.
- Texas A&M evened the score on the ensuing drive with a 40-yard field goal from Randy Bond.
- The Gamecocks reclaimed the lead midway through the first quarter on a 50-yard receiving score from Vandrevius Jacobs.
- The visiting team recovered an Aggie fumble to the end zone to extend its lead to 17-3 at the end of the first quarter.
- South Carolina tacked on a 41-yard field goal to go up 20-3 with 9:32 left in the second quarter.
- Nyck Harbor took an 80-yard reception to the end zone to extend the Gamecocks' advantage to 27-3.
- In the final seconds of the first half, South Carolina converted a 35-yard field goal, making it a 30-3 game at the break.
- The Aggies opened the second half with a 27-yard receiving score from Williams to cut the deficit to 30-10.
- Reed hit Bethel-Roman 39 yards downfield in the end zone for a touchdown with 4:18 left in the third quarter, making it a 30-17 ballgame.

- Today's attendance of 108,582 was the largest of the season and fifth-largest in Kyle Field history. It was the Aggies' ninth straight crowd in excess of 100,000 and the largest crowd ever at Kyle Field with an 11 a.m. kickoff.
- The Aggies improved to 10-0 for the first time since 1992 and logged the program's first 10-win season 2012 (11-3). Texas A&M has five 10-0 starts in its history, with the 2025 team matching the starts by the 1992, 1975, 1939 and 1919 Aggies. The Aggies posted their 13th 10-win season in school history.
- Texas A&M's 10-game win streak marks the first double-digit win streak for the program since the Aggies won 11 straight over the 2020-21 seasons.
- Texas A&M is 7-0 in SEC play for the first time and have won 7-plus league games for the second time. Only the 2020 team has won more league games with an 8-1 worksheet in the SEC-only pandemic season. It's the first time the Aggies have reached 7-0 in conference play in any league since R.C.
