Reed Among Davey O’Brien Great 8, Manning Stars of the Week

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed earned Davey O'Brien Great 8 and Manning Award Star of the Week honors after leading the Aggies to a miraculous second-half comeback against South Carolina, the organizations announced Monday.
Reed threw for a career-high 439 yards on 22 completions with three touchdowns, and added 13 rushing yards for a career-best 452 total yards. The redshirt sophomore fueled a 27-point comeback by passing for 298 yards in the second half and directing four scoring drives, including a 99-yard march in the fourth quarter that gave A&M a 31-30 lead.
The Nashville, Tennessee, native became the first Aggie quarterback to eclipse 400 passing yards since Kellen Mond in 2018. His 439 yards rank eighth in a single game in program history. This season, Reed ranks No. 14 nationally in total offense per game (302.3) and stands first in the SEC and sixth nationally in touchdowns responsible for with 28 (22 passing, six rushing).
Texas A&M returns to action Nov. 22 for its home regular-season finale against Samford at 11 a.m. on SEC Network+.
