Mia Kupres Advances to NCAA Singles Championship Round of 32

ORLANDO – Mia Kupres of the Texas A&M women's tennis team moved to the round of 32 of the NCAA Singles Championship at USTA Tennis Campus Tuesday.

ORLANDO – Mia Kupres of the Texas A&M women's tennis team moved to the round of 32 of the NCAA Singles Championship at USTA National Campus Tuesday.
 
No. 22 Kupres took down No. 43 Tatum Evans of North Carolina, 7-6(2), 6-3. She competes against No. 113 Berta Passola Folch of California Wednesday. A victory earns All-America status for Kupres.
 
Violeta Martinez came out on the wrong end, dropping a hard-fought battle to SMU's Sophie Llewellyn, 6-4, 2-6, 1-6.
 
The NCAA Doubles Championship starts Wednesday. No. 38 Kupres/Daria Smetannikov face No. 45 Xinyi Nong/Nikola Daubnerova of Florida in the round of 32.
