FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas A&M's Marcel Reed was named the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week for Week 12 after rallying the Aggies' in a dramatic come-from-behind 31-30 win over South Carolina.
Reed delivered a career performance, throwing for 439 yards and three touchdowns while completing 22 passes. He also chipped in 13 rushing yards to reach a personal-best 452 total yards. After halftime, he took over, connecting on 16-of-20 attempts for 298 yards and all three scores as A&M erased a 30-3 deficit and surged to victory. He showcased strong downfield accuracy as well, going 5-of-6 on throws of at least 15 yards for 192 yards.
The Nashville native became the first Aggie quarterback to top the 400-yard mark since 2018, and his 439 yards rank eighth in school history for a single game. Reed has put together one of the nation's top seasons, sitting 14th in total offense at 302.3 yards per game and leading the SEC with 28 total touchdowns, including 22 passing and six rushing. He was also recognized as the Associated Press National Player of the Week.
