Get to Know: Taylor Pannell

Transfer pitcher Taylor Pannell joined the Aggies for the 2026 season. The senior from Lee's Summit, Missouri, appeared in 33 games for Missouri last year, posting a 3.33 ERA over 73.2 innings with 69 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .254 batting average.

What made you decide to commit to Texas A&M?
"I came to A&M because of the culture and coaches. I love the family aspect and all the traditions here."
How has your adjustment to Aggieland been?
"It's been great being down here. It's a lot like home for me. I love the whole country feel of everything."
What sets A&M apart from other universities?
"The investment in the athletes here. We have a lot of player development and having that aspect is fun."
What is your major and what do you plan to do with it?
"My major is agriculture education and I'm getting my teaching certificate to hopefully become a high school teacher or a professor."
How has it been to play for Coach Ford and this pitching staff?
"I love Coach Ford and all the investment she has put into me this year, especially as a senior. She has put a lot of time into seeing me grow as a pitcher and helping me reach that ceiling I wanted to get to."
What is it like to play with a talented infield?
"The infield is one of the biggest pieces for me. As a pitcher, I trust them and they trust me."
Where is your favorite place to eat?
"I like the Dixie Chicken. Everyone says that, but they do have really good food."
Do you have any softball pet peeves?
"Anyone who wears a visor with their ears sticking out gives me such an ick."
What are your favorite parts about game days?
"Getting ready and the vibes in the locker room. We have a really good time before the games."
Who on the team have you connected with the most?
"The pitching staff as a whole. We hang out together every day and we go through a lot of hard stuff together."
