Nov 28, 2025 | Men's Basketball
TAMPA, Fla. – The Texas A&M men's basketball team got out to a hot start and never looked back, taking down Florida State 95-59 Friday afternoon in the Battle of the Bay at Benchmark International Arena.
An aggressive start on both ends of the floor saw the Aggies (6-2) jump out to a 16-3 lead, forcing Florida State (5-3) to call an early timeout. Texas A&M forced three early turnovers and scored five points off the miscues before the timeout. Rubén Dominguez sparked the offensive attack for the Aggies, draining four in the first seven minutes of the game to put Texas A&M up 27-8 with 13:35 remaining.
Following the eight-minute media timeout, the Aggies scored seven quick points in under a minute to go up 43-20 with 5:07 remaining in the opening period and eventually took a 52-24 lead into the halftime break.
Dominguez's hot shooting saw him finish the first half with 15 points, going 5-for-6 from 3-point range, while Rashaun Agee added 10 points and nine rebounds. Texas A&M shot 50-percent (9-18) from 3 in the first half and scored 15 points off turnovers.
It was more of the same in the second half until Florida State scored 11 straight points to get the difference back under 20 points, but a floater in the lane by Josh Holloway and a 3-pointer from Pop Isaacs ended the drought and sparked a 16-2 scoring spree for the Maroon & White to give them a 77-44 advantage with 8:21 remaining.
The Aggies held Florida State to just two points in the final 3:57 of the game to cruise to a 95-59 victory.
Dominguez finished with 21 points, going 7-of-11 from three-point range to lead the way, while Rashaun Agee recorded his second double-double of the season with 17 points and 17 boards.
