12thMan.com chatted with Anna Perelman. The freshman joined the Aggies this fall after her experience with playing in Moscow, Russia.
Why did you choose Texas A&M?
I chose Texas A&M because they have a really strong tennis team and are really good academically. When I made my visit, I was very impressed by the coaches and the team, so I decided to go here.
Why did you choose to attend college instead of going pro?
I wanted to have a degree from the university because it's important. College also gives you everything you want, and you can travel for the pro tournaments as well.

Biggest adjustments coming from Russia to Texas?
Different atmospheres with the campus and the university itself. It's different because I'm far away from home and the student life in general is really different compared to home.
What is your favorite food?
Definitely sushi.
Besides playing tennis, what do you do for fun?
I love reading books in my free time.
What emoji best describes you?
The emoji I would have to choose is the smiling one.
What is your favorite Aggie tradition?
The Yell Leaders and the yells throughout the games.
Who on the team has made the biggest impact on you so far?
One of the other freshmen, Tilde [Stromquist]. We were both recruited together and the first few weeks we really got along with each other.
What are your goals and aspirations for this season?
Winning the National Championship and making my mark on the team.
What are the three essentials of your everyday life?
I would have to say my phone, racquet, and car.
