LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Junior wide receiver and return specialist KC Concepcion was named a finalist for the 2025 Paul Hornung Award, the organization announced Thursday.
The award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football. Concepcion was one of six players acknowledged and the only one representing the SEC.
This season, Concepcion has accumulated 901 all-purpose yards (112.6) and nine combined touchdowns. He is tied for second nationally and in the SEC in punt return touchdowns (2) and ranks second in the SEC in average yards per return (22.1). Additionally, the Charlotte, N.C., native leads the Aggies and ranks tied for 12th nationally in receiving touchdowns (7) and 25th in all-purpose yards.
For his career, Concepcion has compiled 2,601 all-purpose yards in 33 games from 1,844 receiving, 403 rushing and 354 punt return yards. During that stretch, he has recorded 27 total touchdowns, including two punt returns for a score in 2025.
Joining him as a finalist for the award is Washington's Jonah Coleman, James Madison's Wayne Knight, Louisville's Caullin Lacy, Notre Dame's Jadarian Price, and Texas Tech's J'Koby Williams.
The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, now in its 16th season, is owned and operated by the Louisville Sports Commission (LSC). The Award pays tribute to the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. The winner and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner in downtown Louisville in March 2026.
"These guys are true gamers, just like Paul Hornung," said Greg Fante, LSC president and CEO. "When he played for Notre Dame, Paul excelled on offense, defense and special teams, always doing whatever it took to help his team win. He would be proud of this year's finalists."
Concepcion and the Aggies close out a three-game road swing Saturday when they travel to No. 19 Missouri for a 2:30 p.m. CT kick on ABC.
