LEXINGTON – Texas A&M volleyball's Logan Lednicky was named a 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Year Semifinalist, the organization announced Friday.
Lednicky is the first Aggie to be named a semifinalist for the award and joins a list of 14 athletes across 11 programs in the running for the honor. The senior was named to the Player of the Year Watch List earlier this year and has garnered Preseason All-SEC Team recognition, as well as earning an SEC Player and Offensive Player of the Week nod. Under her leadership the Aggies are 19-3 overall on the year and 11-1 in SEC play which is their best start to a league season since joining the conference in 2012.
She has led the Aggies offensively all season, registering 295 kills while hitting at a notable .303 percent. The Sugar Land, Texas, native's level of play raised further once the Maroon & White hit their conference slate, as she has recorded double digit kills in all 12 contests and averages 4.19 kills per set and accounts for 4.87 points per set. Her defensive prowess has also been on show, leading the team in digs during SEC play and has recorded eight double-doubles.
The opposite hitter's impressive numbers have helped her make the assent up the Texas A&M career kill list, as she started the year in 12th with 1,219 and has since climbed all the way to sixth with 1,514 and is just five from holding the No. 5 slot.
Lednicky and the Aggies continue their conference schedule as they face Auburn tonight with first serve set for 6 p.m.
