ATLANTA – Texas A&M student-athletes Jaden Harris (track & field) and Clara Nemeth (equestrian) represented the Aggies at the Southeastern Conference Career Tour Dec. 2-4.
The annual SEC Career Tour provides exposure for SEC student-athletes who are seeking career opportunities in various fields. The program allows student-athletes to connect with human resource recruiters and submit resumes for entry-level jobs and internships while gaining valuable knowledge of professional branding.
"The SEC Career Tour taught me how valuable being a student athlete in the workplace is," Harris said. "Athletes learn so many valuable skills that transition to work like time management, teamwork, grit and more. Learning how to better network was also a huge portion of what I gained from the tour."
"I am so grateful that Texas A&M athletics provided me with the opportunity to attend the SEC Career Tour," Nemeth said. "It was an experience I will truly never forget and has made a lasting impact on me, strengthening my drive to bring excellence to everything I do! It was especially meaningful for me to connect with Aggies at Coca-Cola! It was truly amazing and equipped me in ways that will stay with me forever!"
This was the 10th edition of the SEC Career Tour. It has been held in Atlanta each year leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game with the exception of 2020 when it was held virtually.
Harris and Nemeth were two of the 29 participants from 15 conference schools. The group opened the tour at the home of the SEC Championship football game, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where they were given a tour of the facility. The three-day event also included a visit with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.
The Aggie duo also visited several corporations and organizations in the Atlanta area: The Coca-Cola Company, GoTo Foods, State Farm Arena, South Downtown Atlanta and Chick-fil-A.
