Get to Know: Maddie Sauni

Freshman catcher Maddie Sauni joined the Aggies for the 2026 season. The Arizona native was a four-star prospect in high school, ranked 25th nationally and fifth at her position.
Get to know one of the newest Aggies below.…
In what part of your recruitment process did you decide to commit to A&M?
"In October of my junior year I committed here, and it was my last visit. As soon as I was on campus, I knew I needed to be here."
What has been your favorite thing about A&M?
"The people, traditions and how close-knit everybody is."
What are your individual and team goals for this season?
"Individually, just get better. As a team, we're all looking to go to the World Series and win a national championship."
What is your major and what do you hope to do with it?
"Sports management. I want to do something in the sports field along the lines of marketing."
What have you heard about the 12th Man and what are your expectations?
"I've heard it's unreal. The fans are so supportive and always there, so I'm nervous to play in front of them but I know it's going to be exciting."
How has it been working with a talented roster of Aggie pitchers?
"It's been good. We've grown a close relationship in a short amount of time, so I'm excited for this season."
Is there a difference between the style of softball in high school and in college?
"It's more competitive and serious; the goal setting here is bigger."
Where in College Station is your favorite place to eat?
"Coco Shrimp. It's really good."
Do you have any pregame rituals?
"I like to put my hair in a slick back with a braid, bubbles and a ribbon."
What is your favorite genre of music? Do you listen to it before games?
"Rap, usually NBA YoungBoy."
Who on the team do you hype up the most?
"It's between KK Dement or Kate Munnerlyn."
