Kennedy Tosses Second Career No-Hitter in Run-Rule Victory
Feb 09, 2025 | Softball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – All-American Emiley Kennedy recorded her second career no-hitter in an 11-0 run-rule victory against Purdue on Sunday at Davis Diamond.
The left-handed ace retired the first eight batters she faced before yielding a walk in the third inning with two outs. After keeping Purdue (2-4) hitless through 4.2 innings, the Boilermakers connected on a routine hopper that was headed to second baseman KK Dement as the ball ricocheted off the first base runner for a runner interference call ending the game on an out and a fielder's choice for the final at-bat.
After Texas A&M (6-0) left the bases juiced in the first inning, Mac Barbara put the Aggies on the board with a grand slam to right field in the second inning. The Maroon & White added a run in the third and exploded for six runs on two hits, while capitalizing on three errors by Purdue.
UP NEXT
Texas A&M opens the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational against Wichita State on Thursday at 4 p.m. on ESPN+ with Matt Schumacker (play-by-play) Texas A&M Hall of Famer Amanda Scarborough (analyst) on the call.
