Borovilos Garners SEC Freshman of the Week Recognition

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, becoming the first Aggie golfer to earn multiple freshman of the week nods in one year, the league announced Wednesday.
The Ontario, Canada, native shot a 6-under 204 at the Clover Cup to tie for second and earn runner-up honors and lead the Maroon & White to its fourth top-three finish. She was one of two golfers in the field to shoot below par every round.
Borovilos earned her first freshman of the week award after the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Challenge at the end of the fall season and was tabbed as the SEC Golfer of the Week following her first collegiate victory at the Chevron Collegiate.
Prior to this season, only Marijosse Navarro (2014), Amber Park (2018), Ariana Saenz (2018) and Brooke Tyree (2019) had been named freshman of the week once during a season for the Aggies.
Borovilos has carded eight straight rounds under par over the last three outings. The freshman has the Aggies ranked No. 17 in the country and the team is set to return to the course March 24-25 at the Charles Schwab Invitational in Fort Worth at the Colonial Country Club.
