No. 14 Aggies Drop Midweek to UTSA

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 14 Texas A&M baseball team fell to UTSA 7-4 Tuesday night from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
Defensive miscues plagued the Aggies (6-5) as the team committed five errors on the evening. The Maroon & White also allowed four walks and hit four batters in the contest.
Texas A&M loaded the bases in the opening frame and jumped in front, 1-0, on an infield RBI single from Gavin Kash. In the second, Kaeden Kent wrapped a solo homer around the foul pole in right to extend the lead to 2-0. The long ball marked the third in the last two games for the junior and traveled 413 feet.
The Roadrunners (12-3) answered with a run in the third, two in the fourth and four in the fifth to take a 7-2 lead.
With runners on the corners and two outs in the sixth, Kent trimmed the deficit to 7-3 with an RBI single to left. On the play, the junior was thrown out trying to advance to second, ending the Texas A&M threat.
The Maroon & White pushed across another run in the seventh courtesy of a second RBI single from Kash, cutting the deficit to 7-4.
The Aggies were retired in order in the eighth and ninth as they fell 7-4.
