Friday's series opener marks the seventh meeting all-time and first since 2021 between the two clubs. The Aggies (7-5) lead the series 6-0 and have outscored New Mexico State (7-5) 47-12. All six contests have been played at Blue Bell Park.
The Maroon & White will send the left-handed trio of Ryan Prager, Justin Lamkin and Myles Patton to the mound this weekend. The rotation has been dominant this season, combining for a 2.25 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 40 innings of work. New Mexico State will counter with a trio of right-handers in Jack Turner, Hayden Lewis and Matthew Yarc.
Over his last 12 starts in front of the Olsen Field faithful, Prager has compiled a 7-0 record to go along with a 1.74 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 67.1 innings of work. During the stretch, the lefty owns a strikeouts per nine mark of 11.4 and has allowed only 14 walks. Entering Friday's start, Prager sits three strikeouts away from becoming the 21st player in program history to reach 200 in his career.
Shortstop Kaeden Kent has led the offensive charge for the Aggies as the junior is batting .318 to go along with a team-best five homers and 12 RBI. Kent's five homers rank eighth among the SEC and are a career-high for the shortstop.
PROMOTIONS AT THE BALLPARK
FRIDAY: The first 1,000 fans at Blue Bell Park on Friday will receive a FREE bubble blaster.
SUNDAY: It'll be Sunday Funday for the finale against New Mexico State as the first 80 kids 12-and-under are able to join the Aggie starters on the field for the national anthem. To join the team on the field, kids 12-and-under should meet at Guest Services 30 minutes prior to first pitch. Anthem Buddies opportunity is limited and subject to change. There will also be FREE face painting on the concourse along the first base side throughout the end of the first inning.
Following the game, all kids 12-and-under are invited to run the bases and stick around for postgame autographs.
