Apr 14, 2025 | Baseball
BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M first baseman Blake Binderup has been named the SEC Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
The weekly honor marks the first of the redshirt sophomore's career and the first by an Aggie this season.
Binderup recorded a team-high .538 average to go along with a stolen base, two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI to help the Aggies extend their winning streak to a season-high six games. The redshirt sophomore registered a hit in all four games, including a pair of multi-hit performances in Texas A&M's sweep of South Carolina. The Aggie first baseman also recorded an RBI in all four contests, including a career-high tying five in Friday's series opener.
With the Maroon & White trailing 3-2 in the series opener, Binderup ripped his second grand slam of the season to give Texas A&M a 6-3 advantage. In the series finale, the redshirt sophomore reached base safely in all six plate appearances and delivered a key two-out, two-run homer in the Aggies' historic comeback win.
Binderup also logged a .588 on-base percentage and an SEC-best 1.154 slugging percentage on the week.
Texas A&M remains home at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park for a midweek contest against Tarleton on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
