Texas A&M's SEC Championship Run Ends in Stroke Play

BELLEAIR, Fla. – The No. 16 Texas A&M women's golf team finished 10th at the 2025 SEC Championship Wednesday and did not advance to the match play portion of the tournament at the Pelican Golf Club.
"It is hard to hide the fact that we had four girls that had not experienced this before and it showed today," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "Our group will be better because of this. We have to prepare for NCAAs and this was a step in that direction. Cata had a great week; we just did not give her much help throughout the tournament. We are excited to see where we go for regionals and represent Texas A&M on that stage."
The Aggies finished stroke play 21-over 861. Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio led the way with a stellar final round where she shot 1-under 69 and secured a share of seventh on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore shot 2-under 208 during stroke play. Ole Miss's Caitlyn Macnab took home the individual title at 9-under 201 for the week.
Freshman Vanessa Borovilos was second on the team at 5-over 215 thru 54 holes and tied for 37th. Sky Sudberry followed that up tied for 43rd with a 6-over 216. Rounding out the lineup were Mia Nixon and Kynadie Adams who tied for 65th and 75th, respectively.

The Aggies prepare for their regional assignment for NCAAs. The selection show will take place at noon on Golf Channel April 23.
