Maichon Earns Return Trip to Arnold Palmer Cup

NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M men's golf All-American Phichaksn Maichon claimed a spot on Team International competing at the Arnold Palmer Cup June 5-7 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The revered Congaree Golf Club serves as site of the 2025 edition.
In 2024, Maichon and fellow Aggie Adela Cernousek represented Team International at the famed Irish links at Lahinch Golf Club. Maichon will join Andrea Pavan ('09,'10), Chandler Phillips ('17, '18, '19) and Sam Bennett ('21, '22) as Aggies to play in multiple Arnold Palmer Cups.
Maichon, slotted No. 18 in the Scoreboard Rankings powered by Clippd, is enjoying a successful season with victories at the Sea Best Invitational and the Aggie Invitational. He has finished in the top 10 in seven of his last eight events, including a third-place effort at the SEC Championships.
The Bangkok, Thailand, native earned PING All-America Third Team status last season, as well as being named All-SEC Second Team. He owns four career collegiate titles.
Maichon has excelled in international competition, recently claiming the clinching match for Team Asia-Pacific as the won the Bonallack Trophy in December. He reached the round of 16 at last year's U.S. Amateur.

The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla., in 1997. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of international players. The Palmer Cup has been played at some of the world's greatest courses, including The Old Course at St. Andrews, The Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, Baltusrol, The Honors Course, and Cherry Hills. Beginning with the 2018 matches at Evian Resort Golf Club, the Palmer Cup is the only major tournament that features men and women playing side-by-side as partners.
