Apr 03, 2025 | Women's Golf
AUGUSTA, Ga. – Texas A&M's Scarlett Schremmer made the cut at the 2025 Augusta National Women's Amateur Thursday and will play the final round at historic Augusta National Saturday.
Schremmer shot a 1-over 73 in round one which had her on the outside looking in as she was tied for 42nd. However, on day two the Birmingham, Alabama, native fired a 3-under 69 at Champions Retreat and finished the first 36 holes with a share of 17th.
The incoming freshman made the cut by two strokes in her first appearance at the championship. Schremmer was one of four American golfers and five international competitors to advance that are 18 years old or younger. Oregon's Kiara Romero and Lottie Woad led the field after two rounds at 9-under 135. Woad was the 2024 ANWA Champion.
Schremmer is one of the most decorated junior golfers in the world, ranking No. 80 among all amateurs. The Aggie was the No. 1 American golfer in the 2025 class and highlighted the No. 2 ranked recruiting class by Texas A&M. Schremmer represented the United States in the Junior Solheim Cup and reached the round of 16 at both the U.S. Girls' Junior and U.S. Women's Amateur in 2024.
All 72 amateurs will have the opportunity to play a practice round at Augusta National April 4. The 32 golfers that made the cut will play at Augusta National Saturday, April 5.
Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio missed the cut by two shots in her third appearance at the championship. She has appeared in the most ANWAs of anyone in program history (2023, 2024, 2025). Jennie Park (2023, 2024), Hailee Cooper (2024) and Schremmer (2025) are Aggies that have also played in the event. All four Aggies made the cut at least once in their careers.
The final round is scheduled to be broadcast on NBC from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. To learn more about the tournament and keep up with live stats, visit anwagolf.com.
