Through April 28, the Aggies rank fourth in the nation in hit-by-pitches (56), 10th in on-base percentage (.443) and 12th in doubles (84), while their 351 total runs are 19th-most in the country. ROAD WARRIORS
The Maroon & White are 9-1 in true road games, including an SEC best 7-1 ledger. Seven of the nine wins have come against ranked opponents, including doubleheader sweeps at No. 8 Florida State and No. 16 Georgia, as well as a series sweep at No. 22 Auburn. Senior Allie Enright follows hitting 14-for-34 at the dish with two round trippers, 10 RBI and 11 runs. Senior Emiley Kennedy has paced the pitching staff with an undefeated 5-0 record, including four complete games in the five starts. The left-handed ace has 40 strikeouts in 36.0 innings of work, while holding opposing batters to a .177 batting average with two shutouts. Each of the road trips have been at stadiums that rank in the top 25 in average attendance, including Missouri at No. 6 (1,990), Auburn at No. 12 (1,823), Georgia at No. 13 (1,757) and Florida State at No. 24 (998). Entering the weekend, Tennessee averages the ninth-highest attendance in the nation at 1,891.
BUILT FORD TOUGH
Head coach Trisha Ford is in her third season in Aggieland and 15th overall. Known for her blue-collar mentality, Ford has instilled that attitude into her program leading the Aggies to a 120-44 record. Ford brought the Aggies back into national relevance as the program recently earned their first ever No. 1 ranking in the NFCA and ESPN polls on April 15. Since the inception of the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll in 2005, Ford has been the second-fastest head coach to lead a new program to the No. 1 ranking—doing so in just 159 games, behind only Kelly Inouye-Perez, who guided UCLA to No. 1 in her second season (84 games). Texas A&M was the first program in 79 polls to earn the No. 1 ranking outside of Oklahoma, Texas or UCLA. Under Ford, the Maroon & White have won 16-of-23 SEC series and have finished in the league's final standings five positions higher than what it was picked in each of the seasons SEC coaches preseason poll.
