BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men's tennis head coach Steve Denton announced the addition of former University of Oklahoma standout Kholo Montsi to the Aggies' 2025-26 roster.
"I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to join the Texas A&M tennis team," Montsi said. "It's an honor to be a part of a program with such a strong tradition and supportive community. I'm looking forward to learning, growing, and giving my best to represent the team and university well. Gig 'Em Aggies!"
Montsi, who is from East London, South Africa, played his first two collegiate seasons with the Sooners, accumulating a 30-18 singles record and a 32-13 doubles worksheet. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors as a freshman in 2024 and tied for the conference title at the No. 2 line. He has posted career high ITA rankings of No. 36 in singles and No. 41 in doubles.
"We are ecstatic about adding Kholo to our team," Denton said. "He has had a lot of success against our team in the past and was one of the better players in the SEC. Kholo plays an exciting brand of tennis as one of the fastest players in college tennis and I know the 12th Man will really enjoy watching him compete. He is a two-way athlete in both singles and doubles and has a lot of experience playing in the SEC, which will really help our team next season. September can't get here soon enough."
Added associate head coach Kevin O'Shea, "We are so blessed that Kholo decided to join the Aggie Family. His ability to fight for every point and ball make him a nightmare to play. No one wants to play guys like him. We are excited to add a new dimension to his game as well."
An accomplished junior player, Montsi posted career high rankings of No. 601 in ATP, No. 12 in ITF juniors and 13.64 in UTR before arriving in Norman. He had four Futures semifinal appearances and one finals appearance.
