Kennedy Earns SEC Pitcher of the Week Recognition

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Emiley Kennedy has been named the SEC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon. The weekly honor is Texas A&M's seventh this season, the most in a season in program history.
Kennedy went 2-0 at No. 2 Tennessee, including two complete games totaling 12.0 innings pitched and 16 strikeouts finishing the series with a 1.17 ERA. The weekly accolade is the third of her career and first this season.
The senior spun a one-hit shutout in a 1-0 series opening thriller against the Lady Vols. She punched out seven of the first 15 batters she faced before Tennessee scratched the hit column. Kennedy finished game one with 10 strikeouts, while stranding eight Lady Volunteers. The left-handed ace made her 20th start of the season in the series finale and went the distance for the 16th time this year in the five-inning run rule victory. Kennedy finished the game with six strikeouts, while yielding two runs, three hits and three walks.
Kennedy is 19-4 this season with a 2.57 ERA, while throwing 16 complete games in 20 starts. She's gone 12-2 in SEC action, including 82 strikeouts in 87.0 innings pitched with a 2.82 ERA with 10 complete games and four shutouts.
