Jun 11, 2025 | Women's Tennis
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team was selected as one of 14 hosts for the 2026 ITA Kickoff Weekend, the organization announced Wednesday. The Aggies will be joined by Arizona State, TCU and Michigan State at Mitchell Tennis Center January 24-25, 2026.
The Aggies locked up the No. 2 overall seed to host the ITA Kickoff Weekend, following a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championship. In 2024-25, the Maroon & White advanced to the NCAA Championship final for the second consecutive season and earned a fourth-straight SEC regular season crown.
The Aggies face the site's No. 4 seed Michigan State in the opening round. If they advance, they play the winner of No. 2 seed Arizona State and No. 3 seed TCU.
The Kickoff Weekend is used to determine which teams advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships which will be contested at Northwestern and Illinois. Texas A&M is hosting the ITA Kickoff Weekend for the fifth consecutive year. The Aggies are 8-0 in the event over that span, outscoring opponents 32-3.
Last year, the Maroon & White toppled South Florida (4-0) and TCU (4-0) to punch a ticket to the indoor championships. Texas A&M finished as runner-up at the ITA Indoor Championships, the furthest the program has progressed at the tournament.
