CLEVELAND – Fueled by 11 top 20 NCAA finishes, Texas A&M placed No. 15 overall and No. 7 among SEC schools in the final 2024-25 Learfield Directors' Cup standings. Texas A&M has now finished in the top 25 of the prestigious ranking of overall athletics success 19 consecutive times.
"I am very thankful for all of the hard work that our student-athletes, coaches and support staff contributed to our top 15 finish in this year's Learfield Directors' Cup," Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said. "I firmly believe that the future is incredibly bright for Texas A&M as collegiate athletics continues to evolve. We are dedicated to a culture that is focused on giving our programs all of the resources they need to compete for championships, and I am grateful that here at Texas A&M we are well-positioned moving forward to achieve that goal."
Leading the way was the NCAA Championship by coach Pat Henry's men's outdoor track & field team and NCAA runner-up effort by coach Mark Weaver's women's tennis team. Other teams contributing NCAA top 10 finishes were women's outdoor track & field (No. 3), women's indoor track & field (No. 7), men's tennis (No. 9), volleyball (No. 9) and men's indoor track & field (No. 10).
Other top 20 NCAA finishes were accomplished by men's golf (No. 11), men's swimming & diving (No. 12), men's basketball (No. 17) and softball (No. 17).
The Aggies are one of 10 teams nationally to finish in the top 25 every season since 2005-06. Joining Texas A&M in the elite group are: Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and USC.
Additionally, Texas A&M's equestrian team, the department's lone non-NCAA program, advanced to the semifinals of the NCEA Championship.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
