PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The No. 7 Texas A&M women's golf team concluded Monday's second round of the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in fourth place at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
"I thought we got off to a great start again with today's round," head coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We had some mistakes around the turn that really dug a hole for us, but we had a very strong finish to give us a chance tomorrow. I am very proud of the way we finished off today's round and am excited to be in the final group tomorrow with a chance."
No. 2 UCLA (-2) extended its advantage out in front, leading the pack by eight strokes. No. 6 Florida (+6) follows in second, while No. 11 Texas (+8), Texas A&M (+9), No. 9 Pepperdine (+12) and No. 31 SMU (+12) rounded out the top five.
Louise Reau was the first Aggie to tee off and had a successful outing, recording three birdies with one bogey to finish 2-under 69 on the day.
Natalie Yen returned to the clubhouse shooting 2-over 73, while Vanessa Borovilos was one shot behind at 3-over 74 and Brynn Kort finished 4-over 75. Sky Sudberry wrapped up the scoring with a 5-over 76.
Kort and Yen are tied for eighth in the individual standings at 1-over 143 through 36 holes. UCLA's Jeonghyun Lee leads the field through two rounds at 4-under 138.
