BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M standout Aaron Pounds earned SEC Golfer of the Week recognition the conference announced Wednesday. It marked his second league honor of the season.

Pounds was honored for his performance in finishing tied atop the leaderboard at the Sea Best Invitational. The junior notched his second t-1st outing of the season, along with winning the 2nd Swing Gopher Invitational.

The Woodlands, Texas, native shared the top with UCF's Chase Haygood who took home the tournament's trophy in a playoff. Pounds fired a blistering 6-under 65 in Tuesday's action, carding seven birdies, including a string of four in a five hole stretch from Nos. 11-15. For the tournament, he finished 7-under 135.

Following his performance, Pounds climbed to a career-best No. 20 in the Scoreboard National Player Rankings powered by Clippd. He owns four top-four finishes this season.
