Pryor Earns All-SEC Second Team, All-Defensive Team Honors

Texas A&M's Ny'Ceara Pryor was voted to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team by the SEC coaches, the league announced Tuesday.

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Ny'Ceara Pryor was voted to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team by the SEC coaches, the league announced Tuesday.

Pryor led the SEC in steals per game (3.5) and became just the third player in conference history to have multiple steals in all 16 SEC contests. The Baltimore native amassed 54 steals to lead the SEC during the conference slate, which was the third most for a player in league action since the 1999-00 season.

The senior currently leads the country in double-doubles with points and assists (8) and was the first player since the turn of the century to have four-straight in SEC play. Pryor leads the team with 15.9 points and 7.2 assists per game. Her assist per game mark is fourth nationally.

Pryor has led Texas A&M to wins in six of its last seven games and five consecutive to end the regular season. During the stretch, the Aggies have beaten three ranked teams and collected two Quad 1 road wins. Pryor averaged 17.7 points, 8.6 assists and 3.3 steals during the eight-game span where Texas A&M climbed 31 spots in the NET and 23 in the WAB to bolster its NCAA Tournament resume.

Pryor became the first Aggie to earn All-SEC honors since the 2020-21 season and the first player for the program to be named to the All-Defensive Team in 10 years (Jordan Jones – 2015-16). The league's leader in SPG and two time NCAA leader in the category is the shortest player in SEC history to be named to the All-Defensive Team at 5-3.

Texas A&M and Pryor look to extend their winning streak to six against Auburn Wednesday, March 4 in the first round of the SEC Tournament at 5 p.m. inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
