Two Aggies Advance to NCAA Championships on Zone Diving Day 1

Divers Emilio Trevino and Joslyn Oakley advanced to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships after strong performances on day one of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Monday at the Rec Center Natatorium.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M divers Emilio Trevino and Joslyn Oakley advanced to the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships after strong performances on day one of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Monday at the Rec Center Natatorium.
 
Trevino, a freshman from Monterey, Mexico, qualified in the men's 3m dive, while Oakley, a senior from Mooresville, N.C., punched her ticket in the women's 1m dive. It marks Trevino's first trip to the NCAA Championships and the third NCAA meet for Oakley.
 
Needing to finish in the top seven in the men's 3m dive to advance, Trevino placed fifth with a 12-dive score of 735.25 to advance.
 
Oakley needed a top 11 finish to advance and delivered a score of 589.55 to grab a fourth-place finish.
 
In other Aggie action, sophomores Bridget Foster and Julie Moons placed 17th (536.15) and 18th (514.05) in the women's 1m dive, respectively, while sophomores Nathan Stone and Charles Reuter finished 13th (692.30) and 15th (680.25) in the men's 3m, respectively.
