Aggies Drop SEC Tournament Contest against Oklahoma

NASHVILLE – The Texas A&M men's basketball team exited the SEC Tournament with Thursday's 83-63 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in second round action inside Bridgestone Arena.
 
Rashaun Agee set the Aggies' single-season record with his 13th double-double. He scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Pop Isaacs chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Rylan Griffen added 13 points.
 
Texas A&M (21-11) was doomed by the Sooners' 48-33 rebounding margin and 18-1 edge in second-chance points.
 
The Aggies found themselves in deep waters at halftime, trailing the Sooners 49-27. Oklahoma (19-14) built the lead by outshooting the Aggies 59%-29% from the field. The Sooners ran out to a 25-11 advantage at the 11:37 mark and the Maroon & White were unable to pull back within single digits before the intermission.
 
Back-to-back 3-pointers by Isaacs sparked a 10-0 run by the Aggies as they trimmed the deficit to 54-42 with 15:25 remaining in the second half. The momentum was short-lived as Oklahoma opened its advantage back to 20 points at the midway point of the half.

  • Paced the Aggies in rebounding for the 25th time this season with his 16th double-digit performance of the year.
  • Led the team in scoring for the 15th time this season.
