COLLEGE STATION – The No. 15 Texas A&M softball team blasted a season-high five home runs to run-rule Sam Houston, 18-3, in five innings Tuesday night at Davis Diamond.

Texas A&M (23-9) hung crooked numbers in every frame and scored a season-high 18 runs, while nine Aggies registered a hit. Ariel Kowalewski paced the offense with her first career multi-homer game and a career-high five RBI. Tallen Edwards added a career-high four RBI and led the team with three hits, while Kennedy Powell went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Grace Sparks earned the win, tossing 3.0 innings with one strikeout while allowing two runs. Taylor Pannell closed out the final 2.0 innings and recorded a pair of strikeouts while allowing one run.

The Aggies plated five runs in the opening frame courtesy of three long balls. Edwards hit a two-run homer, followed by Mya Perez with a solo shot, and Kowalewski added a two-run homer to take a 5-0 lead.

Texas A&M extended its lead to 6-0 on a double steal in the second inning before Kowalewski launched a three-run homer to push the advantage to 9-0 after two innings.

Sam Houston (21-15) opened the third inning with consecutive singles before a base hit down the third-base line put the Bearkats on the board, 9-2.

The Aggies continued to apply pressure as Powell and Edwards hit back-to-back singles, while Powell scored on a wild pitch. Micaela Wark hit a two-out, two-run home run to extend the lead to 12-2.
