COLUMBIA, S.C. – The No. 10 Texas A&M softball team dropped its series at No. 24 South Carolina, falling 2-1 in Sunday's rubber match at Carolina Softball Stadium.

Texas A&M (35-14, 15-6 SEC) left 10 runners on base and went 1-for-15 (.067) with runners on base and 1-for-7 (.143) with runners in scoring position, despite drawing seven free passes, including four hit-by-pitches and three walks.

Mya Perez drove in the Aggies' lone run without recording an official at-bat, reaching base in all four plate appearances with two walks and two hit-by-pitches. Tallen Edwards recorded a hit and scored, while Paislie Allen, KK Dement, Kennedy Powell and Frankie Vrazel each added a hit.

Taylor Pannell (1-2) worked 1.0 inning in relief with one strikeout and two walks. Grace Sparks entered in the seventh with a runner on first and issued a walk before South Carolina (29-22, 7-14 SEC) used a sacrifice bunt that led to a throwing error, allowing the go-ahead run to score.

Starter Sidne Peters tossed 5.0 innings, allowing one run on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

The Aggies struck first in the second inning. Edwards opened the frame with a single and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Vrazel was hit by a pitch and Powell loaded the bases with an infield single, before Perez was hit on the first pitch to bring home Edwards for a 1-0 lead. A potential 2-0 lead was halted when a hit-by-pitch call was overturned on review, and the inning ended with a flyout.

South Carolina loaded the bases in the third, but Peters induced a groundout to escape the jam. The Gamecocks tied the game with a solo home run in the fifth.
