COLLEGE STATION – The No. 3 Texas A&M women's tennis team faces the Quinnipiac Bobcats in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at Mitchell Tennis Center.

The Maroon & White were granted the No. 4 overall seed in the tournament. They host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion Quinnipiac in a 1 p.m. match following a 10 a.m. contest between No. 37 Baylor (13-9) and No. 27 Wisconsin (17-7). The Aggies open the NCAA Tournament at home for the fifth-straight year.

The Maroon & White are led by No. 1 Lucciana Perez who was named the SEC Player of the Year. She was joined on the All-SEC list by second-teamer Mia Kupres. Perez is 23-0 this season, all in dual action. She finished the SEC slate with a 13-0 ledger. Kupres is ranked No. 48 with a 14-9 record. Three other Aggies on the ITA rankings include Ilinca Amariei at No. 69, Daria Smetannikov at No. 87 and Lexington Reed at No. 115.

The Aggies have won 82 of their last 83 home matches. Texas A&M is 22-5 on the season and won a share of its fifth-consecutive SEC title with a 13-2 mark.

Quinnipiac has advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times since joining the MAAC in 2013. Willow Renton plays on court 1 for the Bobcats, posting a 17-10 mark, including 7-1 in MAAC action. Anagha Shankar is 19-7 with an 8-0 record in league play.

This marks the third time in the last four seasons the Aggies and Bobcats meet in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Maroon & White topped Quinnpiac, 4-0, in 2023 and 2025.
