OKLAHOMA CITY – Texas A&M softball's Mya Perez was named a Top 25 finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Award, the organization announced Wednesday.

Regarded as one of the nation's most feared hitters, Perez ranks second nationally and first in the SEC with a .621 on-base percentage while owning an NCAA-leading 52-game on-base streak. The junior has drawn 46 walks, the seventh-most nationally, while her 27 walks in SEC play lead the league and set a Texas A&M program record. Perez also ranks 14th nationally with a .951 slugging percentage and 25th with a .455 batting average.

Perez has recorded 56 hits this season, with 48% going for extra bases, including 17 home runs and 10 doubles. She owns a 1.572 OPS and has struck out in just 5.7% of her 192 plate appearances.

The Corona, California, native is slashing .400/.556/.833 against ranked opponents. In 22 games against top 25 foes, Perez has totaled seven home runs, five doubles, 22 RBI and 10 runs scored while drawing 15 walks.

No. 12 Texas A&M closes out the regular season with a three-game series against No. 1 Oklahoma beginning Thursday at 8 p.m. at Davis Diamond.
