Â
Sidne Peters (14-5) earned the win after tossing 2.0 scoreless relief innings with three strikeouts while holding Oklahoma (46-7, 18-4 SEC) hitless. Kate Munnerlyn provided 3.0 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run on one hit and two walks. Sydney Lessentine made the start, tossing 2.0 innings with a pair of strikeouts while allowing four unearned runs on three hits.
Â
The Sooners struck first in the second inning, capitalizing on a fielding error and plating four two-out runs on a single, double and two-run home run to take a 4-0 lead.
Â
Texas A&M cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the second after Ariel Kowalewski drew a one-out walk, Kelsey Mathis doubled and Allen delivered a two-RBI single through the middle.
Â
After a scoreless third inning, Oklahoma added another run in the fourth on a two-out double followed by an Aggie fielding error that allowed the runner to score from second, extending the lead to 5-2.
Â
Powell led off the fifth with a single and scored in the next at-bat when Edwards doubled down the right field line to trim the deficit to 5-3.
Â
Play was halted overnight in the sixth inning and resumed Friday, where Ol' Sarge's charges capitalized with a five-run, two-out rally to take an 8-5 lead. Peters then slammed the door shut with a looking strikeout, swinging strikeout and induced foul out to seal the victory.
