PHILADELPHIA - Texas A&M first baseman Gavin Grahovac was selected with the 81st overall pick in the third round by the Los Angeles Angels in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft on Saturday from the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
With the selection, Texas A&M stands as the only program in the nation with three or more players picked in every MLB Draft since 2001.
In his final season in the Maroon & White, Grahovac started all 57 games and slashed .339/.429/.722 to go along with 16 doubles, 22 homers and 74 RBI. The junior totaled a team-best 26 multi-hit contests, 76 runs scored and 78 hits on the year. He garnered First Team All-SEC and All-SEC Defensive Team honors, while also being named the SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year. Grahovac earned consensus All-America honors in 2026, becoming just the 10th two-time All-American in program history.
The Orange, California native left his mark in the Texas A&M record books, standing as one of two players in program history to record two 20 home run seasons. Additionally, the junior finished his career tied for the fourth-most home runs in school history with 47.
Grahovac started all 130 games he played in throughout his three-year career in Aggieland and helped lead Texas A&M to postseason play during the 2024 and 2026 seasons, including the Aggies’ first appearance in the Men’s College World Series Finals in 2024. In 2024, Grahovac was named SEC Freshman of the Year and became the first player ever to lead off game one of the College World Series Final with a home run.
