PHILADELPHIA- Texas A&M right-handed pitcher Clayton Freshcorn was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 19th round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday.
Freshcorn complied a 2.82 ERA across 54.1 innings pitched while punching out a career high 56 batters against just six walks. The junior cemented himself in Texas A&M record books with 12 saves on the year, tying for the third-most in a single season in program history. The Waller, Texas, native earned consensus All-America honors and was a finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award following his dominant 2026 campaign.

In two years in Aggieland, Freshcorn made 50 appearances and posted a 3.43 ERA. Across 81.1 innings pitched, he punched out 89 batters and earned 14 saves, tying for sixth-most in a career at Texas A&M.
